How would you simulate a fluid dripping on a surface? What tools are needed to treat shapes in a computational framework? How can shape collections be compared and clustered?
How can curvature be defined on a triangulated mesh? What properties should such a definition have? Can all smooth differential operators be defined on a triangulated mesh in a consistent manner such that important properties hold?
For an exciting project on the fundamentals of discrete differential geometry with important applications to computer graphics and geometry processing, I am looking for talented, self-motivated and trail-blazing graduate students.
In addition, I have two open postdoc positions, for people with all the above qualities as well as a proven publication record.
